Erken thuisonderwijs als onderwijsvorm

We

homeschooling families, professionals and others who care about freedom of learning,

establish that:

• homeschooling provides each individual child with a learning environment that caters to their specific developmental needs;
• research shows that homeschooled children develop well socially, emotionally and cognitively;
• homeschooled children are capable of successfully transitioning into higher education and employment;
• homeschooling can be a solution for some of the children who are currently not able or capable of attending school, or whose needs do not fit within a school environment;
• professors and the Dutch Education Council (de Onderwijsraad) advocate for regulation as opposed to restriction of homeschooling;
• homeschooling parents and children are currently facing legal inequality and uncertainty;
• in many other countries, homeschooling is already recognised and valued as a proper form of education

and request

• to allow all families for whom homeschooling could be a suitable temporary option the choice to do so;
• to incorporate homeschooling in the law;
• to propose a form of supervision that aligns with this form of education.
